So I finally found a topic that I could really spend some words on because my opinions are strong and this is the brutal truth how I see it. Just like in rl there are cliques in chat world. If you spend any amount of time in either a chatroom or in sl you will find them. I've found it always interesting to study the behaviors of cliques. Now some of you might ask how does cliques effect your time in a chatroom or say in a club in sl??
Have you ever noticed how you make snap judgements about a person's avatar??? Wow too much like reality right?? The biggest reason I have enjoyed online social chatting is the fact that usually what I'm being judged on is my words - thoughts- how I interact with people - however there is still the visual game that gets played. In chatrooms (ok here I'm going to use chatropolis as an example not that I'm doing free promoting- smart ass grinz - but people have images with their names on it or phrase and the popular kids dictate who has the best ones and you get judged by what you wear - sounds like reality right?? I'm going to be very honest and say I am an avatar snob at chatro - I have a good eye for what is good and what isn't - whispers- that is because I make them and after six or so years now I think I'm pretty decent enough though I'm always learning and I like being creative but lets face it - all that really is ....photo manipulation - I'm good at photo manipulation - I take things others have created and put them together to create a picture that conveys mood - personality - feeling maybe.......I know I'm going off topic I do that - grinz- ** scroll down below for some links and things to see some of my work**
Now back to mean girls philosophy - so have you ever found yourself caught up in the same social hang ups but in chatworld?? So if you are in sl - have you seen a noob and instantly judged them or whoever - it might be someone you are just meeting or saw their avi fly across the screen or see them a store - club - or whatever and you start critqueing how they look - thinking they really need to get a better skin - shape - hair - outfit - shoes - etc etc etc etc.....What about the reverse? Thinking you have to buy the most expensive thing to fit in at a certian hangout or with certian people. Quality stuff - knowing what it is and then getting it - oh wait that is exactly why people spend so much in secondlife - right - because honestly why else are you spending so much linden on one particular thing?? Are you trying to portray yourself?? yourself with improvements?? what you always wanted to be?? Ask yourself that before you spend another linden on something to improve your avatar's appearance.....what about buying the bigger house in sl?? The land - cars- toys - damn am I getting to real for you all??
Why do we feel the need to fit in with people?? Who sets the bar??
You could say I've played the game but always felt like I never quite fit in - an issue I've had since childhood- wanting to be popular - wanting to be kewl - knowing the game enough to put the effort in then realizing why the hell am I doing that??? Now I've never fit well into the group mentality mob scene - I've seen the actions in sl and chatrooms where it gets downright ugly with what people say - sometimes I find it ironic - sad - and sometimes I'll just rock the boat because I'm bored and want to see the main group of "popular" kids get all riled up. Yah well I think I've earned the troublemaker title a few times - though I try very hard not to do it in a way where its directed at one person - I am not that mean - grinz-
Ok I think I'm done with this topic but I did say I would post some of my work so if you are interested here are some links to galleries of my work.

My SL life has been pretty blah lately which is why I haven't written much of late I suppose. I did spend 11 whole days without sl while I was out of town for the holidays and I realized that I don't need it - but then I never really did I suppose.
My RL has been pretty blah lately too - I need something to jolt me out of the deep rut I'm forming just existing.........
